I'm so lucky!

As I did more reading today, I realized just how lucky I am, despite the pain that I feel!

I'm lucky because I was only involved with my N for 4 months. While I got hooked, and hooked good, we don't have all the entanglements that I see so many other have or had. No children, no financial involvement (other than the money I gave her), didn't live together and were only together for four months. Saw her about 20 times in that period but we texted a lot, when I wasn't getting the ST. Many others at this site were together for much longer periods, have children, own homes together, joint debt, etc. She says she just moved 575 miles away (yet another lie? Who cares. If true, it will be easier to avoid in person C.

I'm reminded that despite the pain I feel, it could be worse. Now it's up to me to do the work and to stay NC (today is day 2).

My mother always used to say that no matter how bad you think you have it, there are others who have it worse. Remembering that helps put things in perspective. I just saw a TV interview with a man who lost both his legs in the Boston Marathon bombing. Despite his disability, he's got an incredible attitude. I will strive to emulate him.

Despite the pain, my N has given me a great opportunity to try and deal with the underlying SA. If I had contact with her, I would thank her for that. But that would just give her supply and I sure don't want to do that!
