I saw some photos on the internet, cannot believe how much snow and the photos of cars along Lake Shore Drive, doesn't Miss Winfrey live in a high rise around that area?did you go to work today, people must be taking 4-5 day holidays and it is nearly the weekend!
Oprah lives at the top of the Ritz on Michigan Ave. I'm sure was as snug as a bug. I'm from Buffalo NY, I'm used to it. Work as usual today. In fact over 200 cars stuck on Lake Shore yesterday, it's all cleaned up. Moving forward. See... Perfect example, keep moving, it's just a blizzard, how horrible when you're in it. Today Sunny and clear.

Just escaped to LA before the big storm. Ugg. I hope everyone else is getting through it ok. Thanks so much for your thoughts OWML and I hope everyone is doing ok and no major problems. Wow! What a snow, and starting up again!
There was a fire on our street last night, in a two flat just like ours. The one person at home got out safely, but the whole building is gutted. 67 firefighters fought it. Surreal, especially in the snow.
My old neighbor and I just chatted. Though she never mentions the narc she said, "I have to tell you that his brother came out of his house this morning (he lives next door to narc brother) and shoveled a little path between their houses." So retarded. Pretty much sums up their world.
Everyone else is snow blowing entire blocks for their neighbors, but not them. No one else in the universe. I'm sure the narc won't come out of the house for days, afraid to get his feet wet. LOL
bahahahahahaha! He is such a little sissy I can just see him inside his cavernous house, shaking, looking out the window, pacing, chain smoking and texting. I guess everyone on his block is pissed because he is the only one on the block with four wheel drive but is too scared to leave his house! I'd be cruising over to Lake Shore Drive to go cross country skiing!
Unfortuantely, I can also imagine his poor little boy, asking, "Can I play in the snow, papa?" And the narc saying, "No! Go to your room!" Yuck. What did I see in him?
I am near Chicago so you can guess the snow we got, I cant open my doors to let my dog out. 5 foot drifts all around our home. I am going to work on a sewing project today.

I love it! I have books, magazines, wine and a DVR full of shows I haven't had time to watch. Ok... we might literally be stuck inside tomorrow, but I'll take a day in my pajamas hanging with my daughter any day! Happy-- sorry to hear about your commute! I remember once last year a 45 minute commute took me 4 hours bc of the weather. That is DEFINITELY the downside of Chicago weather/traffic!
Awwww.. have fun! We were out early today. I had to shovel a path for my dog so she could pee!!! Now we may walk 2 blocks to a friends house... I've already cleaned out all my kitchen cabinets, my daughter finished her valentines and I made a huge yummy breakfast. It's nice to be forced to slow down!
What shows are you going to watch? I think I'm going to order "Pumblic Enemy" from On Demand tomorrow. What neighborhood are you in? I'm in South Loop. We should meet up sometime soon! Yes, it is nice to be forced to slow down, isn't it? I LOVE the show Modern Family, FUMB! Helldweller - yes, I did get to see some of the filming of Public Enemies. They were shooting it in my ex-fiance's neighborhood two years ago. In fact, they almost used his place to shoot in because it's a vintage art deco apartment. I was so excited, but it didn't happen.
Got a question for all the Chicago ladies - anyone interested in participating in shooting a trailer to promote the upcoming book "Surviving a Toxic Relationship" ?
I'm going with an e-publisher this time around and she is putting some money into promoting the book before it's launched. We're actually going to shoot a trailer (like you would to a movie) to promote the book. We will be shooting two short trailers and if interested, please let me know if you want to participate in one or both! In fact, anyone is welcome to participate. One or two of our moderators might fly in for it so feel free to do the same, if you'd like. It will be a lot of fun. We're going to do this in February, but still working on a date once we know who is interested. Ok, so here's the plan:
1) We will be shooting a music video to the song "Not the Doctor" by Alanis Morissette. I recorded a cover to this song two years ago and want to use the audio to create a video to promote the book. Basically, we will take turns singing the lyrics to the song, which are as follows:

Sorry to hear about your commute, Happy! It reminds me of the time in 2001, my hour long train ride turned into 7 and a half hours. It was the winter of 2001 and my ex-husband and I had moved to the suburbs and had our first home (which, btw, he never shoveled or left me to shovel it - lol - i don't miss that). Anyway, left work at the Sears Tower and walked to Ogilvie Train Station. Because of frozen ice on the track, we were delayed and it took me 7 and a half hours to get home. I'll never forget that night. Oh, and the train was packed so I was sitting on the corner of some half-seat. Nightmare! Stay warm and safe everyone!
Thanks! Taking 7&1/2 hrs to get home would have made me move I think! I understand not missing shoveling the drive. I have to go out and do that today and I'm not looking forward to it.
