Has anyone managed NC without changing their number?

I'm totally serious and ready to go NC this time, but changing my number is not an option. It's a business number that I've had for years and I still get work from it now from years ago. My clients are all from recommendation so I would lose thousands of pounds worth of work, I've tried to weigh it all up but with my son to support, losing work is just not something I can do. My number is also publicly available through my work and would be easy to get hold of even if it was changed.
I'm considering maybe getting a second number for personal use and having this one turned off most of the time, maybe just switching it on once a day to pick up any work. At least that way it will hopefully be easier.
My question is, has anyone here managed to go NC without changing their number? I know most of u say this is a vital part of maintaining NC. I'm determined to do it but concerned at just how far he will go as he knows every other time I've caved in
