Gone Girl: A Novel by Gillian Flynn

One of the reviews I read about this book said....."The author did seem to understand the mind of a sadistic, narcissistic sociopath." Most of the people that reviewed the book mentioned that they experienced difficulty keeping up with the characters and plot twist. Ha! If they could only imagine living it! I'm very interested in seeing the way the N is portrayed in the novel. Although it is always so scary to take the chance that old feelings might be brought up again, it may be worth it to me to take the chance in hopes of really being able to see how their sick twisted minds work! Although I've lost all hope of ever being able to understand why, it might be interesting to witness the how from and insiders' perspective. The book is written in the first person from the point of view of the N.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on whether this might be healthy or unhealthy from an emotional and psychological point of view. I would usually opt out of reading this type of novel or even watch scary movies. In my humble opinion, they change our souls. They introduce thoughts that aren't within our nature. Once we are exposed, we can never forget, but what could be more influential than the actual journey we've all had to suffer through!?

Has anyone read it? What do you guys think!? Am opening the wrong door? Will this taint my soul even more than he already has? Will this only cause regression!?

I know there is no way of actually knowing what the effects of the book may be since your knowledge of me is so limited, but I'm only asking for your opinion, there is no other group of people that can understand me at the level you guys do, so to me, it is highly valuable to have your input.
