Love the end of your post "than let's say somebody like me"! I had to laugh. My narc lover told me my homemade apple pie was the worst. He's the only human being to say anything bad about it. I LOVE my apple pie (moms recipe) and had to make 10!!! Last week for friends that wait all year for them. He says his wife wouldn't cook for him because he always criticized her. I love that I make more $ than him. After the job he did on my heart and ego, I can't help but lol at the fact that he's in foreclosure, can't hold a job and failed at 2 marriages. After being torched by a narc, i doubt you'd fail to see the signs again. Me, one WHIFF of narcissism from a new guy and I will leave SKIDMARKS in front of his place.

The ex-Psych prof claimed to be an expert on St. Augustine's "Confessions", after all, he wrote about it in his master's thesis at the University of Virginia. I did my senior thesis on Augustine's "Confessions"... he has NEVER written about Augustine again, nor has he ever published that book he claimed he was writing about Augustine&Wittgenstein. The ex-P liked it that he had been more published than me. I was just a student. He freaked when I got published in the college newspaper. He liked it that he was writing about the philosophy of religion... he no longer writes about that, thanks to YOURS TRULY. He claimed to be an expert on Tolstoy's "War and Peace." He was so AFRAID that I'd read his favorite novel that my senior class was assigned "Anna Karenina" instead. When I showed off my copy of "War and Peace" (I recently found it on vacation at my parents' place), he blenched&blanched. He was also afraid I'd turn it into a musical extravaganza..... Once I knew what his insecurities were, it was like playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Which is a lot of fun, even when blindfolded.

I stayed in a continuing, successful partnership. He, however, was cheated on, for a second time... and now maintains a 3000 mile long distance relationship. Weird?

Best craps player on the planet, if you ask him...in the 7 years I knew him, I never saw him win A DIME on a craps table. In fact, he blew at least 4 mortgages trying. Best player at the shared interest we have, if you ask him...in the 7 years I knew him, he never won a title at even a small state event. Absolute and utter headcase in competition. He pouted that i skied better than he and demanded to know how I got so good. Then he dismissed me and my mad skills because the only reason I was so good was because I had more experience than him, not because I was an inherently better athlete than him. Then he proceeds to move to the mountains to learn to get better than me. How sad. Creating a life based around your insecurities so no one will ever make you feel less than again.

also with him being a compulsive liar he lied for three years with elaborate details and accounts of going to L.A for capitol records.. he never went he admitted it during the D&D seriously ladies i documented my texts it was Elaborate detailed where he was down there what he was doing conversations with the people he met down there lol coo coo! what a dangerous disordered individual

The ex Narc in my life was 'the best' at everything!! He was always telling elaborate stories about how great and magical his life was. When he would fail at things I used to feel so terrible. Kind of like with a child. When your child tries and tries to succeed at something and then fails it does feel bad. But I had no reason to feel bad for the Narc failing. He really believed that he could literally say he was good at something and then actually be good at it. Weird.

This past summer (as I was startng to see) on the last vacation before it ended. We went to a lake with my sister and they had those wake boards. The guy told him and my brother in law on a windy day like today you should only use the amateur board since you have never tried it. They went on the lake and I told my sister, just wait he will have to move to the pro board in a min, that was too much for his ego. 1o min later he comes floating in and says Im switching it for the pro board this is too easy...her and I laughed so hard. Wait it gets better....the guy also told them be very careful on a windy day like this one you get can get carried away to the other side of the lake in the current. So he goes way out on the lake on the pro board, my 11 year old son on the amateur one, all of a sudden the wind picks up. He is getting farther and farther from my son (they are heading back in) and I start to get nervous, I yell at him to wait for our son. he says and I kid you not "fuck that, Im not getting carried away by the wind" I looked at my sister and had it not been for my kid halfway across the lake I would have died laughing. He didnt get how stupid that was.
