So sad today after hearing about her losing her fight against cancer.

It seems so unfair, and I dont know why I am so mad. But i just feel angry.

She was such a amazing person.
I didn't always agree with her position on supporting her husband no matter how ridiculous his lies got, I understand that i did not have the capability to understand her complex public political life.

But I always admired her. When I read her book Resilience, I could really feel the pain she suffered because of John's affairs and lies. The betrayal she felt after all the sacrifices she made. I guess like all of us. Its just too sad to me that such a wonderful person had to suffer so many hardships, the loss of a son, battle such a awful disease and then be stuck with that kind of man her whole life.

Kind of like some of our stories...

My cousin, who was diagnosed

My cousin, who was diagnosed 10 years ago with stage 4 breast cancer, told me today that she broke down and cried last night because Elizabeth Edwards had been diagnosed, not even at stage 4, and had died within 6 years afterwards. She said she had lived the short life that was suppose to be her diagnosis. We had to wonder if it wasn't the stresses of losing her son and all the stresses of what her husband had done that had shortened her life. We believe so. almostlydia

Thanks for the post

Thanks for the post Broken23. I remember reading about her husbands treatment of her and thinking, hes a NARC too. I felt much sorrow for her as she had to live out her pain in the public eye! Peace for her at last.

It is true, Elizabeth is now free

I was cleaning last night, and for some reason, I heard the tv saying Elizabeth Edwards died. I was sick, and sad, I guess because I really thought she would beat this, or at least, live for years to come. I dont know why I thought that. I had such a feeling of saddness and I didnt even know the woman. I just remember all the horrible things that had happened to her, the loss of her beloved son, the public and private marriage to that piece of shit, pathological lying bastard, and her struggle with a horrible form of cancer. I always remember thinking, God, Im so happy the world doesnt know what really goes on in my marriage, Id be horrified, but she wasnt, she didnt seem to be, she held her head up high, faced the public, I wish I had such grace, but now, this woman, she is free, free from all the pain and finally home with her son. Im so sad for her other children and her friends, but so happy to know that piece of shit can never humiliate nor hurt her again. May she rest in peace. Jaycee

I had the exact same sentiment as you, Briesis.

She is finally free. He is the epitome of a narcisstic pig. It really is so sad. At least she is no longer suffering. Rest in peace Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Edwards

Elizabeth Edwards was an amazing woman. This statement is so true: "In her life, Elizabeth Edwards knew tragedy and pain," President Obama said in a statement released by the White House. "Many others would have turned inward; many others in the face of such adversity would have given up. But through all that she endured, Elizabeth revealed a kind of fortitude and grace that will long remain a source of inspiration. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends." Elizabeth Edwards endured a lot of pain indeed. Many people would have retreated and hid from the world after going through what she did. Not Elizabeth Edwards. Instead, she wrote two books, prepared her family for her death and shared her struggle with others so they could learn from her. Truly, an inspiring woman whose spirit will always live on.

RIP Elizabeth!

Elizabeth Edwards faced 2 big battles in the last few years, and she faced both with grace, dignity and class.
