Does anyone know legal issues with hanging on to Ex's belongings?

The N and I have been apart 3 months. He had a new job out of state and he had said he didn't know if he would be gone only a few weeks, etc. He left his belongs with me even though our relationship was over because he wanted me to get an abortion.

I am handling being pregnant and single just fine. But I am tired of looking at his stuff every day. My life has totally changed since he left. He is out having a good time and I am cutting corners and preparing to be a single mother. I don't want to be responsible for his belongings when he doesn't even want to be part of his child's life. I have contacted him several times to get his things and pay me the money he owes me. He always says "soon". After 3 months, I'm tired of waiting.

Can I give his things to a charity or would I get in trouble?
