Did others make you feel that maybe you are expecting too much?

I'm having a bad moment. I had a friend tell me today when I was telling her why I am done with ex bf N.. She seemed glad we broke up but at the same time I felt so bad when she said 'Well you know nobody is perfect, you can't find the perfect man, we all have bumps in the road in our relationships." This triggered something in me. I felt like than I was expecting too much, like maybe it's me being too demanding. I feel a setback in my emotions right now.

Did you guys get reactions like this? I suppose she doesn't know what NPD is and I'm assuming she thinks I'm looking for extreme perfection, which I'm not.

Sometimes I look around and wonder is it because I'm too picky? Something in what she said just triggered me. I think I won't discuss him anymore with friends maybe just my therapist and here ..
