Degrees of Narcissism

From reading a lot of each of your stories and posts here on the boards, in addition to reading the articles posted, I feel my ex may not be that intense of a narcissist like some of you all's. I'm sure there are degrees of narcissim. My ex seems pretty mild (especially because he hasn't really bothered me that much at all over the past 8 months). Thoughts?

pisces

Yep, I used to feel a bit guilty coming here and complaining about my exN because my experience paled in comparison to what some of these women have been through. But when I compare mine to what normal and healthy is, he's horrific! He hasn't bothered me much either, or plotted any revenge, etc. (knock on wood). My conclusion is that he has enough current supply to leave me be. That doesn't take away the fact that he still is one, and made my life hellish enough to cause me emotional issues, health problems, phobias, etc...Even if they are 'milder', they still are extremely destructive.

Well that's true. But I

Well that's true. But I guess I feel guilty because my life wasn't really hellish as it was just emotionally draining. But I'm used to that with my past...so I guess I feel guilty for complaining so much about my recent ex. Thanks for the message. =)

doesn't matter

Doesn't matter what degree he is - it sounds like you're trying to make excuses for him... "gee he's not THAT bad." A little poison will kill you just as sure as a lot. Put down the magical thinking and step away. A married man who uses a much younger woman for free sex is a depraved predator.
