Considering Filing a Harassment Complaint

I'm 115 days NC and the hits just keep coming. Mr. "Christian husband and father" has started avenging my recent blocking of him on a page I keep for our high school class. The SOB started commenting on MY picture, goading me to get a response, and I was tired of his almost daily comments.

I ignore EVERYTHING but now he's calling mutual friends telling them I'm spiting him because he refuses to leave his wife for me. I'm FURIOUS because, obviously, the OPPOSITE is true. I high-tailed it out the MOMENT I learned I was in the midst of a triangulation and I've never looked back. He was emailing me and calling my house only two weeks ago.

I know NC = "Fuck you" and I'm trying to remain calm. And calling mutual friends is his prerogative. But my reputation is important to me, and the scumbag lives 100 miles away and STILL won't stop the bullshit.

I'm getting encouraged by friends to start a "history" with the police by filing a harassment complaint. The local police will contact his township police and just put him on notice that he'll face criminal charges if he attempts to contact me again.

Yet, I'm scared to death that the result will be MORE retribution in terms of what he'll say and do. He's created a FB profile in his wife's name so she looks like she's "outing" me on his page, not him. The coward won't even do it himself.

Has anyone gone to the extent of filing a complaint? And, if so, what were the results? If blocking him on a stupid page gets him going, what the hell can I expect if he gets a visit from the police?

I'm doing nothing now, but if he reaches out again, I'm SERIOUSLY considering this. Just looking for feedback from anyone who may have thoughts on this.
