Analogy to the Wizard of Oz and other stuff

Lately I spent my time distracting my mind from N thoughts, by watching cartoons, and especially "Teen Titans". I don`t know if some of you know it, but it`s definetly awesome. 5 guys/heroes make a team and fight against the forces of Evil. Time passes easy with them, the characters are funny and likeable: Robin, Starfire, Beastboy, Raven and Cyborg.

Their names are less important. You`re probably wondering what got into me to make an analogy about cartoons, here, where people struggle to understand and overcome the power of a Narcisist. Because, I`ve found many similarities between the villain of those cartoons and the Ns. Here and also in the Wizard of Oz movie, and decided to make an analogy, to underline some things and understand them better.

The villain`s name is Slade. What I learned about Slade:

- he is intelligent, but uses his intelligence in evil purposes. he has a choice, and he CHOOSES this way of living.

- he is all about lies, manipulations and deceit; he doesn`t even show his face, he wears a half mask, probably as a symbol.

- he has no friends, and poses as the Master, the Father figure, the Teacher, who knows everything and wants to control the titans who fight for good.

- he is all about control, convinces young minds that he can "fix" them, "help" them; but on the contrary, he is tyrranic, and when someone "failes" him, he PUNISHES that person through physical abuse and torture, as a LESSON..

- he plays with others minds, until he gains total control of them, and then if the person realises his true colours, and wants to brake free, he PROJECTS; he BLAMES the victim for her "ferocious acts", saying she did it herself willingly.

- in many ways Slade is a lot like Satan himself; on the outside, he promises wonders and wishes fulfilled (all an illusion, a bait), but if you are under his web long enough, you discover he is opressive, tyrranic, unmerciful, cruel, and he cares only about his own interest. Not yours.

Here I find Slade very alike the Wizard of Oz character, from the old movie. He promises as well, courage to the Cowardly Lion, a heart, to Tinman, and a brain, to Scarecrow, aong with Dorothy. Once there, they find out he`s a fraud, a phony, that underline the Mask of opressive, cruel Master, was just a phony.

And one of the lines that I liked most in the film, was one of the ending lines.."Afterall, YOU ALWAYS HAD THE POWER DOROTHY!".

And when Dorothy asks confused, "why haven`t I been told this earlier, in the trip?", the good witch tells her, "Because you wouldn`t have believed you really HAD it then".

The Power was always to Dorothy. The way I believe it is with many of us here. The POWER is inside us, but we don`t allow ourself to believe this fully.

Like Dorothy, maybe our answers are not to the Wizard of Oz (Narcs), but in our own back yard (our souls).

Let`s use this experience and trip to Narcland, and get back to ourselfs and our lives, BETTER, STRONGER, WISER!

And let the Narc belong into his fairytale, like the Wizard, in Oz.
