Adrenal Fatigue

Peeps, I discussed this a few weeks back about adrenal fatigue due to being in a stressed situation, like a toxic relationship. I suggest you all read both Part 1 and 2 of this newsletter.

Happy Researching!! :)

Adrenal fatigue

Hi Phoenix, I am glad you posted this info because along my healing journey I too have come to the conclusion that this is a major issue for us. When I left my husband I could not sleep, ate too much (something that I never did before) mainly salt food such as chips and candy, and in addition could not relax or think clearly. A friend suggested that I go get my hormones tested and the hormone specialist also tested me for vitamin deficiency and cortisol levels. My vitamin D was very low which causes depression and my cortisol was literally off the charts and that is why I was not able to relax (I was told not to exercise as it is to hard on the adrenal gland). He also tested for the levels of my female hormones and because of my age and also the stress I was under my progesterone was low and needed to be balanced. I was given progesterone pills from a compounding pharmacy. The doctor I went to is part of a chain which I think is way to expensive for what they do and to me kind of a scam however they do have a very informative website bodylogicmd.com. What I learned by going to this doctors office is my adrenal glands were shot. The doctor gave me "Doctor Wilson's Vitamins" which were very expensive but cut my anxiety in half after taking them for less than a week. The vitamins I was given was Super Adrenal stress formula, which I have found out is just a good vitamin B complex and the other is Adrenal Rebuilder (which is pricy) I did not check my local vitamin store to see if they have a cheaper equivalent or not. My doctor follows Dr Wilson website and suggest taking the vitamins as follows: 2 am/1 at noon/1 at 2:30 pm/2 at bedtime. Dr Wilson (see his website) has also written a book called "Adrenal fatigue the 21st century stress syndrome" which is very informative. Our adrenal glands regulated our blood sugar, blood pressure, 50 hormones, cortisol and adrenaline levels. When it is not working correctly due to stress we become a mental and physical mess. The test I was given for my cortisol levels went to the ZRT.com lab which is suppose to be one of two that are the best. See dr wilson website for more info on this lab and the other. I think the best thing for someone to heal their adrenal gland is vitamins and a change of diet mainly veggies no junk food, caffeine or alcohol. Vegetarian diet is the best. If you can afford to go to an alternative medicine doctor who is familiar with adrenal gland issues and female hormone issues I think this is the best step. I found an alternative medicine doctor through my regular doctor and it turned out that he was part of the doctors with my local hospital otherwise I am sure you can google "compounding pharmacy with your city name" and call them for a doctor. I was told and have read that it can take up to 2 years or more to get your adrenal glands working properly again.
