They DO come back....or at least...they TRY

I don't know why I thought I was the exception, but somehow I had convinced myself that Mr. N was done with me and I'd never hear from him again. After all....a year and 2 months ago he had sent me a good bye text message (while I was out of the country) telling me how he had met someone else and was in love with her and that I was not to contact him. As much as I struggled with the finality of those words...they were also comforting....he was done with me and I could move on with my life. I didn't think twice about leaving him as a professional contact..after all, I didn't really do much with that account. So you can imagine my surprise when a message popped into my inbox with his name. Starting with one of his terms of endearment that he used to use with me, he promptly stated that he is now working close to where I live and wanted to know if I wanted to resume our "relationship". It would have been flattering had I not spent so much time in the process of disengaging and discovering myself again. As it was....the thought that came to my mind was...No Thanks!! I am not opening that door again....My response will be No Response. :) But I have learned my lesson....do not leave any door open for the Narc...because they WILL try.
