Thank you for this forum

Thank you for creating this forum and helping to educate those of us who have been involved with a person with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder).

I've been learning about NPD for 5 years now, after being involved with 2 Narcissists. Learning about this disorder has been so empowering and the only way that I would have survived and ultimately gotten out of those 2 abusive relationships.

I also want to thank you for stating in your video clip, that it's easy to get involved with a N. I agree with this statement and understand now that once a person is targeted by the N, they have no way of knowing that underneath the wonderful, charming mask of the N, lies a very cruel and disordered person. Anyone and everyone is fair game to the N, even those of us in the field of the mental health profession.

I agree

Willow: with your comments completely.. they are experts at sniffing out future prey or 'narcissistic supply sources'... i see them as perpetual 5 yr olds: selfish, needy, stubborn, violent and total un-reasonable.. the only difference is it takes longer to teach a 5 yr old and the moods pass quicker with them.. an adult narcissist has to make conscious choices each second of every day to use, hurt, lie and blame on a continual basis. they are emotional vampires.they sap our souls, health and strength and then have the gaul to look at you-like you are crazy when you complain or disturb their fantasy land. i would say most are also borderline personality or have some other personality disorder(s) combined with narcissism-pyschotic,sociopathic,etc. i know mine is-after doing alot of research this past year.. now im looking into counseling for me-for my health and growth. one more false promise he broke- to get help/counseling-all lies. but they will say anything to keep you hooked and around. they dont want, they NEED,NEED,NEED!! he should have stayed married to his childrens mother. she is BPD,drug addict and a narcissist too. but i guess he hated the competition for attention. sorry for ranting.. it feels good to have others outside this little hell im in,to confide and relate to.

You're so right, legal mom.

You're so right, legal mom. They are like vampires. My brother always uses that term to describe them. They will suck you dry for everything you have and leave you dumbfounded in the end. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for posting,

Thank you for posting, Willow. I really appreciate your comments. Yes, narcissists are brilliant manipulators and can charm anyone, in my opinion. The problem is, what you see is never what you get and in the end, waking up from this disillusionment is very traumatic. I'm glad you find this site helpful as I too have always found educating myself on this topic to helpl in my efforts to move on. Thank for your contributions!
