What a wonderful article!
I always felt like I was walking on eggshells when I was with him.
Then one day out of the blue he said he couldn't stand how I made him feel like he was walking on eggshells!
Whatever! I LMAO!
My ex-Psych professor was exactly like that. He'd treat male students with the utmost respect, listen to their ideas... but talented women like me? He had no time for that.
He sensed that I was walking on eggshells in his presence. He'd say that I was defending myself, using "defense mechanisms",sometimes he'd wonder aloud why I was nervous around him. As if his behavior didn't lead to that???
At my college, it's customary after lectures for the professor to have a Q&A session. When I went to one of his lectures my freshman year, he practically freaked out during the Q&A session. Unless the question could be answered with a fact or quoting the text, he threw a fit. He became visibly angry and seemed on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Exactly what I needed to read today. My X is working overtime now trying to get his sister to D&D me because he is in jail and can no longer get to me. This abuse cycle with some of these guys knows no bounds. I was getting sucked in again and I have not even seen him or heard his voice. WOW, screwy stuff. I read the article and then listened to all the song recommendations on here and am all ready starting to feel better. I have over 3 months NC and cannot allow this crap to suck me back in when I have come so far and have been doing so much better.
God bless,
Goldie
