Narcissist and OCD?

Mine had me running like a chicken with her head cut off - for the first 5 years! He worked out of town and I was at home taking care of all the animals, and when he came back, if there was one piece of dog shit in the dog run, I was a bad dog owner! Yet, I worked 8 hours a day - had to drive 1.5 hours a day to and from the city to my office, clean house, make dinner, pick up groceries...most of the time I would leave the house at 7:30pm and not get back till 7:30 or so, then there were chores...Gawd, I don't miss walking on eggshells. I finally got fed up the last 6 months, and told him, "I am the one that is doing it, so I will do it on my time, NOT YOURS"! Oh and don't forget the running around I had to do for him to while he was out of town!

Mine was obsessed with his own routine. had to exercise on the same days, same time every week. could not deviate without going into a full pucker. could not walk in the house until he picked up leaves out front from the magnolia tree. had to clip the hedge the minute it was possible to clip it. could not stand to have dirty clothes in the hamper; rushed to wash them. had to have the stripes on the pillows on the couch facing the same way. could not go to bed if there were dirty dishes, even a glass, out on a kitchen counter. also weird: could not stand to have an unmailed letter around the house; would stop to mail it even if he was late for something. could not stand the idea of anything being broken anywhere around the house. would insist on fixing it as soon as humanly possible. meanwhile a human could faint in front of him and he'd step over the body to do laundry.

And he warned me of this before we even started to date.... why oh why didn't I stay away - b/c he made me laugh, b/c he let me feel like a kid again, b/c I felt like I could be myself again.... why do we need someone else to "let" us do those things? But yes, soooo ocd, a total neat freak - tossed things all the time - gave to charity, etc. He couldn't attach to anything - much less a person. Lived like a total minimalist. I guess he impressed on me to simplify a few things - I'm so the opposite, keep things for years, but then, I do have attachment to things - unlike the N's, we have feelings. :) fc

he uses this excuse for wanting all his clothes a certain way and done a certain way...obsessively same with the dishes in the dishwasher and things in the cabinets and cupboards he kept all our stuff seperate and in the shower ( this drove me insane) he would reorganize everything everyday...and seperate my stuff from his

my ex never threw anything away, and in his kitchen where utensils should be he had nuts, bolts,screws and tools! His house is a dump and when he takes something out of the house , he throws it in the garage!But he will not hesitate to get rid of his kids things.Walls are bare, no pictures except one. clothes , dishes , trash everywhere! He liked being at my house because it was clean, i told him I was going to let my house look like his, he said "hell no you won't, if I wanna see a dump I'll go home" I should have trashed my house lol

Not only did mine have to have all his clothes on hangers but the hangers had to face the exact same way in the closet and all the shirts were hung so the front of the shirts were all facing the same way. Now that I think about it I was TRAINED to do the same thing to my closet and my kids closets. I thought I didn't have anything to do tonight....I am going to go rearrange all our clothes in our closets....clothes and hangers are going to be hanging every which way when I am done!!!!!
