Justin Timberlake Says No to Narcissism

I have a new found respect for Justin Timberlake. Recently he was expected to release a fragrance using his name. He declined by saying "there's some level of narcissism you have to put in check."

Wow, if I didn't have an opinion on him before, I am now in love with this guy for setting a good example. Rarely do you see celebrities take this kind of stance. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are the norm lately.

Thank you Justin for giving us hope that there are still men out there not yet destroyed by our culture's incessant narcissism. You rock!!!!!

Justin Timberlake 'Won't Launch His Own Fragrance'
Published Sunday, 12th July, 2009 at Angryape.com

Justin Timberlake won't be following in the footsteps of his peers by releasing a fragrance for a cosmetic company using his name.
For now the 'SexyBack' star is happy pursuing his music and acting careers, as well as his co-owned William Rast fashion line.
Discussing the idea of his own scent, Timberlake told Women's Wear Daily: "There's some level of narcissism you have to put in check."
"I don't know that I would be completely comfortable with a my-name fragrance. It feels like cheating, almost. It doesn't seem like you're creating anything."
But Justin didn't rule-out launching a fragrance altogether. He adds: "I could see doing a William Rast fragrance, but that's as far as I think I'll take it."

good for him!

Thank goodness. I love JT ("What Goes Around" is one of my all time favs!) and he seems to have his head screwed on straight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKXm3Qg7sBo Britney's got her fragrance and many tweens are just ga-ga over her stuff. "CURIOUS" what kind of name is THAT for a fragrance? Call me old but I got fed up when "OBSESSION" came out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Articles & information for abuse victims - Updated Daily Online Coaching for Victims of Narcissists/ Psychopaths

You know, I'm not a big fan of his type of music...but I do enjoy his comic timing and abilities that I didn't even realize he had until seeing him a few times on SNL. Good to see that a celebrity (whoda thunk?) would make mention of the problem with narcissism! Nice.
