Was I hoovered?

I think I was hoovered but not sure.....

I am best friends with my mother in law. We were both abused by father and son narcs and we left at the same time. We are supporters of each other and are very close.

Any way about 2 weeks ago my mother in law broke NC and called her ex to tell him they were having a baby girl grand child ( I'm pregnant). He went into a rage and she hung up and of course went back to NC. Well today her son ( my ex) calls her practically on tears saying his dad and him were at each other's throats and that his dad just told him today about the baby being a girl.

He told her I said some horrible things to her ( meaning me) That he didn't mean any if it. He said he knew he broke my spirit. He then again acts ecstatic that we are having a baby girl and says he misses the kids . He told her he hasn't been with any one .... She said he seemed a mess.

Honestly I don't really buy it. But I'm not sure if he was being genuine? Or hoovering? He knows we talk all the time so I'm sure he knows I would find out.
