Overlap of Alcohol/Drug addiction and NPD : Al-Anon

Hi. I've been participating in the path forward community for nearly 2 years. It has been extremely helpful.

I don't recall too much being said about the overlap of addictions (drugs/alcohol) and NPD.

My expsychopathichusband drank daily and (ab)used prescription drugs.

I have started looking into 12 step programs, and landed in Al-Anon. It seems to be a perfect fit for me to find spiritual healing and peace. And a solution for the long-term interactions that I can not avoid due to having a child with the psychopath. And for dealing with the abuse he heaps on my child. Etc.

Has anyone else participated in those fellowships to recover from / deal with the disordereds in their lives?

A lot of what I have heard people say (in Al-Anon) is exactly what I've experienced (Rages, Verbal Abuse).
