This was on the news in my area a couple weeks ago.

A 72 year old man (retired cop) after setting fire to his home took off into the woods with a gun. A standoff ensued and after several hours during a struggle with a police officer the gun shot him in the stomache.

As this was taking place the neighbors were quoted as saying how nice and helpful this man was.

The details that came out in the end were he was due for a court appearence that morning for his divorce. He had hidden over 2 million dollars in assets and had cashed them all out and shredded or burnt over $2 million in cash. He also had taken his wife's jewelry and threw it into a river as well as planned to burn the house down. He had left a nasty letter in the house for his wife and adult daughter telling them they deserved nothing.

He had planned to kill himself but that idn't happen and now he sits in the hospital.

There are many other horrifc stories that have been in the news and it is scary to know how low some narcs can go!

No offense to the good cops of the world but in my book cop spells narc/disordered/rage-filled/violent power-tripper.

In all seriousness, it's a sad story.

You know what story is pretty scary, and showcases how low a psychopath will go? The Drew Peterson story, the story of the cop who had three wives, two ended up murdered?

That's chilling. I watched the lifetime version of this a few weeks ago, and that guy was beyond nuts.

Scary they could be living next door.

Whenever I hear news of men taking their wife's life or their children's it makes me so mad. So coniving and scary. You just don't know what a person is truly capable of. There was an older couple about 5-6 years ago the wife had asked for a divorce and the husband. They were living together in their huge home until they could sell it. Well noone heard from them for a week. Turned out the husband had shot her to death and then for the next five days sat there contemplating suicide. In the end he did kill homself. They had grown children and grandchildren and no one saw it coming.

The reason for me sharing this is for women to realize they need to keep their gaurd up and listen to their gut. Keep yourselves safe and don't feel stupid if you refuse to have contact with the Narc. I remember a post here and the women(can't remember her name) had come home and looked out her window and he was there, she was scared very scared but I don't think she called the police and I can't remember what ended up with that.

How long can a car go if you not give it any gas!!

These are human beings who will live a full life on the prowl.. Like an antelope in the wild if you can out run the lion . You will survive .

Sad to say but there will always be an antelope you will not run fast enough!
