First I want to mention a post from earlier (maybe Sparrow or Spinning) wrote it...something about the jerks ripping away a layer of our skin at a time. this is what makes us so vulnerabled and sensitive. (Jusy my opinion,I am not a professional..

Thick skin allows us to be accepting, open mided and gives us the ability to not take things so personally. We all need to set our goal to be come a rhinosaruas (spellin?) Rhinos have the thickest skin of any creatue.

I was nervous here in the beginning: am I going to sound stupid, crazy, am I going to say the wrong thing.

The MODS are here to point us in the right direction and sometimes that means calling us on our shit.

I feel my purpose is just to offer my own esperience, strength and hope to those in the need. Movingforward (no pun attended) I am not going to offer advice or paticiapte in drama but I am going to reply with my own experience, strength and hope. Things that worked and are working for me may not work for others.

Right here on the forum are the answers we need. Some we are ready to hear and some not quite ready.

So take what you like and leave the rest(you maybe ready to hear it down the road.) But we all ahve a common goal: to find recovery and healing and I feel by arguing or feeling critizied about advice given here is harming someone elses recovery. they may be ready to heed advice that someone else just isn't ready for. As we critize or argue with some advice the MODS give us (who know what they are talking about) as we argue, disagree openly here on the forum we may be interfing with another members recovery.

hope this makes sense.

I think that the website, and

I think that the website, and the mod group, do a masterful job of helping everyone. Whether someone is new to understanding NPD, or not...there always seems to be genuine care for the poster.

Something I particularly like too, is that NC is not just a recommendation here, but what is strongly advised by the mods. I think it is important to have that unified 'front' so to speak. This isn't to say we all haven't broken NC from time to time, but because it's strongly advised as the only way to truly reach recovery, the website therefore doesn't become this 'catch all' of ideas that work for this one, and then someone else chimes in and says what worked for her/him.

If the website accepted any and all ideas as the main path to recovery, it wouldn't stand for anything. And it wouldn't be helpful to those who are feeling lost, in their early understandings of narcissism.

I saw the thread posted by someone relating to Hunter recently, and I have no idea what brought it about. But, Hunter's style, while it might not suit some, is here to help. And she is part of that unified front. In the beginning stages of healing, sometimes, we want to reinvent the wheel. It's been proven that NC is the best way to build one's path to recovery.

So, I just wanted to say that I like the unified front here. I like the 'one message' presented by Lisa Scott and her mod team, done through different delivery styles.

This site honestly saved me. Just my thoughts, for what they're worth. :)

Trust the Mods. If you can't

Trust the Mods. If you can't trust your Mods, you won't be able to trust your recovery.
