Blocking Numbers for AT&T Subscribers

Blocking Numbers for AT&T Subscribers
0

Hi,

I am a new member here and this is my first post...I will share my story soon, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out there as it may be helpful to many of you here...I have seen a few postings lately where a member has blocked a number only to still receive text messages...I too had this issue after I added Smart Limits to my account with AT&T...Although it immediately stopped incoming calls from the numbers I had blocked, I was still able to receive text messages from blocked numbers in which the owner had an iPhone...I contacted AT&T and the only way to stop iPhone users from being able to text you (without changing your number)is to turn iMessaging off in your phone...In doing so, you are reverting back to the old SMS platform which isnt as quick or as efficient as imessaging, but this is a small price to pay IMO for blocking Narcs from being able to contact you!...To turn off iMessaging, simply go to Settings>Messages>iMessage>OFF...Please note that the sender will receive an auto reply that states the wireless subscriber you are contacting is not available at this time...

Hope this helps :)

I Hate that There's So Many Ways...

I hate that there's so many ways they can contact us. Technology...grrrrowl. I feel like I'm always looking over my shoulder or like there's those evil reptilian eyes watching me from the bushes. I sometimes wish I would've been born before telephones, etc.

Thank you for the info

You are right you do what you have to do when you get serious about your recovery.

God bless,

I didn't risk it

I completely changed my number and stopped AT&T service entirely. One week later I heard he was single again - just as I had predicted - 4-6 months and he can't keep the facade going and she dumped him. This, the guy who after having been with me for five years, moved in with someone else right away.

He doesn't have the balls to show up at my work or my house. He knows in his heart I know all about him and I doubt he would even try because I was never short on attitude when the situation warranted it. Exactly the thing that peeved him - he couldn't get me to crumble at his will. New number = new life.
