so did your narcs dress weird? I noticed as far as casual clothes he was ok normal jeans and and tee, or work clothes were normal.. but when he thought he was gonna dress up to show off who he "THOUGHT" he was - look out... the most outrageous attire would comeout. He thought he was a rock star ... I just about laughed in his ugly face when I saw the get up he came up with the colours.. patterns... he looked like a idiot too bad I would'nt have figured it out way back then.... It was obviously the taste of a mad man.... hmmm another redflag missed. You know when I try to think about it all at this point in the whole play I was unknowingly in... I can see him as a court jester... he fits the part to a tee! FOOL
Mine likes his labels...he's
May 1, 2012 - 5:17pm — uncomfortablynumbMine likes his labels...he's all about the labels...DC, Under Armour, Fox Racing...being a younger dude...I really didn't mind, because most of his clothes were kinda soft and fuzzy...it started to hit me though how baby-faced he is during the final D&D stage, that's when I kicked myself out of denial of how juvenile his style was esp with the oversized ball caps he would wear...and the gawd-awful basketball jersey he insisted on putting on sometimes...and last summer with the workboots and shorts....i never said anything since he is so hypersensitive and this is kind of a redneck town anyway, but noticed him eyeing me at times that felt critical, as though he was making sure I was presented properly to represent him...he never overtly criticized, but I'm pretty sure I made it clear that I look good on my own terms...looking back I think he held back quite a bit with me that he may have come out and said to someone with less of a backbone...either that or he decided to just tell himself I look hot anyway :)
Mine loved to go clothes
May 1, 2012 - 4:52pm — KayJayGeeMine loved to go clothes shopping for himself. I never saw a man so obsessed with that kind of shopping.
Mine was a fantastic dresser.
May 1, 2012 - 4:16pm — MonarchMine was a fantastic dresser. Sharp. Very sharp. Totally polished and sexy. He was/is very into style. Everything is expensive. He even irons his jeans. I did notice, though, that he dresses very "young" for his age and sometimes looks stupid (trying too hard for those 20 somethings). But he looks young. I guess it's not really stressful looking out for only himself...hence, no aging. He also would try to dictate what I wore, how I styled my hair, make-up ect.
Too much
May 1, 2012 - 2:48pm — Janie53He said he liked my urban style and had me help him shop. These morons have no minds of their own.
Stay true!
Janie
*laugh* Oh yes.
May 1, 2012 - 2:02pm — FroglegsMine totally got into either turn of the century garb and stuff from the 1920's. Any excuse to dress up, he was all about it.
Hmmm Mine was Weird
May 1, 2012 - 1:34pm — FIGHTINGBACKHe wouldn't even shower most days....
Would wake up in the morning - shave (sometimes), brush his teeth (maybe), get dressed and leave the house for the day. Said he showered after hockey/the gym. If it went three or four days he would finally shower....omfg I always thought that was gross/weird but I just put it down to just another of his "quirks"
Toomuch, mine actually mirrored
May 1, 2012 - 11:43am — spinningmy style of dress. At the time (before I knew he was disordered) I thought it was flattering and that he was trying to be more gentle to accommodate. When I met him he dressed like a storm trooper (he was a cop), boots and all, gun strapped to his hip every second of every day.
Eventually he became "hippie college dude" and left the firearm behind.
By the time the end was near and he was really coming apart, his outfit of choice was para-professional athlete...and while his clothes were always clean, he looked disheveled. It was a sign...
Ugh. So glad it's history.
Sincerely,
(not) spinning. NO WAY. NEVER AGAIN! NOT EVEN AT THIS MOST DISTASTEFUL MEMORY OF THE FREAK
yea now that you mention it..
May 1, 2012 - 12:06pm — toomuchyea now that you mention it.. he did mirror some of the things I wore and bought some of the same style of jeans etc... I think the whole rockstar thing was to impress me but hey what Steven Tyler wears in his rock world does not necessarily fit into the real world.. LOL I guess he kinda changed clothes to be a certain personality he dressed the part ... I guess when he was playing the part of the crazy narc he dressed the part. Man what a world they live in... having to keep changing for every event, person, they have been with.... they have a completely unreal existense.. how would it be to go through all of your life and never know what you stand for, what you believe in, what you love, how sad they are. Just actors that change as they get new stage sets, and other characters to play in their life ... they are so sad!
Nope
May 1, 2012 - 11:34am — FIGHTINGBACKNope - mine always wore jeans/running pants and either gray or black t-shirt....sometimes a golf shirt
Didn't like or feel the need to gett dressed up for anything. Maybe slacks and a golf shirt/sweater for work if meeting clients.
My ExN diudn't necessarily
May 1, 2012 - 11:33am — BtrflyGrlMy ExN diudn't necessarily dress weird but he liked to do weird things with his hair and/or facial hair. Like big mutton chops or anything that was off putting to others. He got a kick out of making people uncomfortable. Nice huh?
yep mine always looked and
May 1, 2012 - 12:06pm — toomuchyep mine always looked and played the odd man out... looked different than everyone else never wanted to be refered to as normal. I guess this is what they think sets them apart from the regulars... they have to be different, because they are above the rest of society... mine was just a freak of nature... at least that is what he looked like...man where was I at during the last 2 years.. and why do I get attracted to someone that is a freak of nature or has to go against the grain? wow these questions are alittle toomuch for me!
Nope. Quite the opposite.
May 1, 2012 - 11:30am — SparrowNope. Quite the opposite. Impeccable dressers. Sharpe dressed man, my husband was, probably because I picked his clothes out, but with that said he LOVED everything and wore it with great pride. Funny, when I first met him, all he wore wear dockers and sweaters from Lands End. That changed of course. I see with the OW, he is wearing a lot of plaid.......the thought of that makes me want to throw up. All he needs is black knee highs and sandals and he is set. She dresses him to her liking I quess. He is also sporting a cross on his gold chain now. Get the visual........This was a man who sported the "urban" look, and now is sporting the (I guess we can call it the "suburban" look. LOL
Narc #2 had amazing clothes but I rarely saw him dressed for work. Mainly in running gear and sport casual. But top of the line everything. Of course........
