One day when we were talking about reconciling after a three month split, we were talking about feelings/emotions/putting the other first (as if he would have any concept of that) and I said to him "you are supposed to think that your partner is beautiful inside and out. That is how you should feel about your life partner"

His reply "well you are pretty, but no woman over fifty is beautiful, only girls in there 20s are really beautiful"

Stupid stupid me for thinking I could fix this warped mind and teach him how to be a good partner

That's funny, now when I think of my Ex-Narc I see him as the person who he really is. he's tall and have sandy blond hair and bright blue eyes but he is still that empty shallow selfish person I had meet 3 years ago. no matter how many times he try to change his spots he still a Narc! :-)

He is a university educated professional who is handsome and looks younger than his real age....unfortunately he has the social graces of a gnat and yes wouldn't know real beauty if it smacked him upside the head.....the other thing about him was that he absolutely freaked and obsessed if he got any sort of mark on his face.....one time he got sweat pimples on his temple...had to cancel all his weeks appts and obsessed about them till they were gone...

He made a few other disparaging remarks as well...."gee you are getting a bit of a tummy on you. We really need to start going to the gym and working out more often. Your stomach was flat when we met and I don't buy that excuse about metabolism/body changes in women as they near 50"

"wow those are really deep lines on each side of your mouth. I guess we all age differently" (this after silently running his fingers over these "laugh" lines numerous times in the past just to make me feel self-conscious)

"I understand why you put your hair up (hot flashes and cause he was too cheap to get a/c) but I really don't like you with your hair up...you just don't look right"
First thing he would do in bed was take out the hair comb or elastic to let my hair down regardless of how hot it was or I was and then he would say "oh you are really sweaty aren't you" DUH!

When I sent pics of me and him to friends they all said what the hell do you see in him?

One friend even said, "You are beautiful, you have a great job, a beautiful home, he has none of these things."

He had me convinced he was tall, dark and handsome.

Now I see him as a very effiminate beady eyed tape worm, freakishly tall, skinny, dark soul.

Beauty starts on the inside. Their rotting decomposed inner self is what they are.

My friends thought he was handsome but once they were around him and his detachment, they all wondered what a vibrant, outgoing, kind person like me was doing with him.....totally socially incapable....

Women over 50 aren't beautiful? What an idiot. Only girls in their 20's are really beautiful? Talk about a warped sense of self......he wouldn't know beautiful if he was smacked up side the head with it.

Glad you are rid of this moron. Can he read? Most likely not, or at minimum, a 6th grade education. My guess is he is an addict and his maturity halted at the time his addiction started. Only boys in high school make such immature statements.
