Important to know about NC...during the first few months

During the first three months of NC, is when I fell the most. I decided to put this thread in the steps 1-3 forum, as this is typically where people fall down the most when it comes to NC.

If I could offer one thing. I read a lot on here, and it's so true...'nc = pain.' And what I wanted to add to that is this. That when you are say one month into NC...you probably start to feel a little better, am I right? No noise. No drama. Yeah, you're hurting. You're crying. You're still trying to make sense of the whole thing. But, you gain a bit more clarity, right?

Then...he/she calls you. Or texts you. And suddenly you panic. Why panic? Just stay NC.

And the reason is this. Because all that clarity you just got? Will vanish, should you break NC with the narc at this stage. All that clarity...you will be right back where you were. Saying...NOW WHAT DID HE MEAN BY THAT?? WHY DID HE SAY THAT? WAIT, MAYBE HE/SHE ISN'T A NARC. (that's a theme common on here)

Stay NC. You were treated badly in the relationship. If he/she is reaching out to you, it is to hurt you some more.

You have to start thinking like them. Stay a step ahead. Don't even bother saying...now, why is this person reaching out to me? Don't bother spinning your wheels trying to figure it out. Become robotic with NC. Just delete...turn your phone off...whatever it takes to stay NC for that day. The next day, you'll have your clarity back.

Just wanted to throw that out there, because I know it's tempting to break NC in the beginning, but you really don't know how much better off you are, if you just stick to it. God bless you guys!
