I realize that in the spirit of safety and anonymity it is not advised to name N or their linked profession.
I do know there are a higher concentration of Narcs within their chosen profession. Does anyone have insight to this?
I wondered what type of profession if any - provided more exploitable supply that they are notoriously drawn to.
Does public attention in the profession serve as their mask? Are they often undetected among peers in the field?

Mine was ex military but is now in the private sector.
I know that Lawyer, Doctor, Fireman, Police Officer, Military, Politician, Teacher, Paramedic, Musician etc. etc. have been mentioned on this board in the past.
However it is important to note that those professions also have lots of Non Narcs.
**And while I'm at it...let's please remember that there are guys on these forums. Some of whom may be in the professions we speak of and who honestly aren't Narcs. I just want to be mindful of that.**

Permit me to reiterate if I was not clear - Was curious about the prevalence or gravitation of NARCS to certain professions.
Post was prefaced with the word NARCS. Women are in same professions - only meant to cover NARCS in professions,

His new OW is a PhD from a prestige school, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he "downgrades" to the part-time court reporter that is excess supply that his OW doesn't know about. How do I know all this? I check his email (I have his password) and FB. I am trying so hard to stop this! Today is literally day ONE of this type of NC for me. Trying to be strong, but as some have said, you don't really find out anything you don't already know and often times can get hurt. Plus not to say anything about not being in NC. I'm 45+ days NC but perhaps it doesn't count that I have ocaissionally checked email? Do I have to start counting over today like AA?

The recent cop one is a mega narcisstic cop and is constantly seeking womens attention. He does charity events and his latest one is to arrange a ladies night where he will be partially clothed! Makes me want to vomit as he is not attractive! He is desperate for any woman to adore him - whether married or not. He wants to be the alpha male with a harem of adoring women. He seems to pull it off until they realise the truth, but he doesn't care because he seems to have so many he just moves on to the next!

February 22, 2012 - 7:04am — aceoneladyMine was a high school dropout...Went to art school in Phoenix,for a year,got a drug habit,spent all the scholarship money his grandma gave him in drugs ,women...later,he was going to become a minister,then he went to work at a rent a car,then met his much older girlfriend,went to work as a construction worker has a GED diploma,currently works at Housing Authority as a Utility Worker...he is very handy,is very good with his hands and PC's,is a shame that he has no ambitions whatsoever...well in his head,yes,but he has a strict routine...Sleep work eat ,pc sleep ,pc sleep eat work.That's his life in a nutshell.He does nothing with his kids,he D&D ME...I GUESS HE IS ONLINE WATCHING PORN,GAMING AND ENTICING WOMEN AND TEENAGERS....

I just realized my exhusband and ex boyfriend are both Narcs but one was somatic and the other was cerebral!!!!
I thought for the longest time that my exh wasnt a narc until I did a second time around with him recently...I kept saying, "But he isnt like my exboyfriend!!" NO...because he was the cerebral form.....
WOW....this makes perfect sense to me now!!

"Asswagon" exhibited both at one time or another. To me it did not matter which aspect was in the room at any given time. The result was still the same.
FTR he appeared to exhibit cerebral dominant. Peppered with somatic - which would rise and fall depending on his narcissistic, mercurial temperature. Always lying in wait to come out and express itself in icky sex - and the immediate disconnect after he had his "happy" moment.
Not a therapist but from the little I do know, there were elements of severe mood swings that seemed to navigate and dictate which side came out. Triggered by feedback/results to his constant angling.

I think any job where they are in a position of power suits them. And you certainly wont find them in unglamorous jobs helping the 'little people'. Its all about them.
