2.5 Year Divorceand Custody Battle From Heck/Hell
1

I am beyond thrilled to have found this forum-- wish I would have found it 2.5 years ago.

On Oct 14, 2011 my divorce was final after almost 3 years. I acted as my own attorney against my narcissistic husband and it was a battle to say the least. I was finally successful in my goal: obtaining 100% custody of my daughters and protecting them from their father.

I know that the home page advised the "no contact" rule yet its impossible in my case because of the children. I have learned to ignore his rants and attacks by not feeding into them. I am learning to set boundaries and I am healing.

The grand finale in court-- and what I largely contribute my success to was actually catching him in a lie...in the court...to the judge.

If you are interested in my story, Please PM me and I will be happy to provide you with the link. I look forward to getting to know others from this forum. Happy New Year!

Good for you!!

That is nice to hear you protected your girls. I have primary custody of my son. The ex didn't fight anything on the divorce. He didn't even show up. So the judge signed it & it was done. Now that he has a new girlfriend he is complaining about his $500 a month child support. He never takes his visitation because she doesn't have her kids on the weekends he is to take his son. He would fight with me the Thursday before his weekend so I would tell him not to bother picking up my son. Now he wants to take me to court to reopen the divorce decree. We were in court for an order of protection last month. After the judge heard my 9 year old son's testimony in his chambers the ex was denied visitation for 6 months till he gets therapy himself. He didn't keep his first appointment, so I'm thinking this is a bother for him. I'm hoping he doesn't proceed with the next court battle. I will go for parental rights & his visitation will include not taking my son over state line, & no girlfriend around my son. If he even gets granted visitation!!
