Is it a good idea to try to travel alone?

I had this idea yesterday... since i am not working i'd love to take this opportunity to travel to somewhere in europe. But i really don't want to go alone and i dont think i know anyone who will have both the time and money to go with me :(

I thought about a guided tour with a group, which really sucked when i went with my n as a couple but now that i am alone... good idea???

I went to Israel all by myself fro three weeks last year and it was a fantastic idea. It helped a lot and has helped to build my self esteem. I am planning to do it again on Christmas break.
