South africa i believe is where it was written, so maybe there is a marxist factor there, OR it could just be the fact that Joyhti was referring to narcsissits as markists? LOL
I too, had heard that song for years, and only "kinda" related it to my ex NARC, however, after joining this site yesterday, and then running acrossed it again, it was like WOW to me as well.
I've had that song on heavy rotation on my iPod for years (love it) but have never really listened to the words and that video says it all. Thanks for sharing!
WOW! I had heard that song before, but never really listened to the words...because I had not really had a relationship with a NARC before now...but NOW...I can really relate to it...coupled with the video, it really illustrates exactly in a mini vignette...the cycle of a relationship with a NARC and makes sense, especially for those of us who have had relationships with these life blood sucking pathological men.
I have a few others I like too. Another favorite is 'Cowboy Casanova' sung by Carrie Underwood...it is a good song about a Narcissistic man (and a woman warnng other women about him)
Casanova..
I just heard this song last week for the first time.. and BING I was like OMG, can I text him telling him the song is about him. lol But I didn't...
Funny, but this was written by a guy. His first name is "joshri" (i think that's how he says hi) I've spoken with him by email a couple of times. He has a website and a face book page. He's a songwriter in South Africa I believe.
White Town is a project band (I think he had something to do with them getting together) and that song was really popular in the states about 10 or so years ago. Interestingly enough, i had just put it up on my stumbleupon page because I wanted to hear it again. and that's when i noticed it's "signature" them. But until Lisa mentioned watching the video and how at the end "she chooses indenpendence" i had NEVER noticed how the video was set up. Cool huh!
lol... 'marxist ways'??
