Hope he's on the top of the WISH HE WAS DEAD list?
Just goes to show us all, if it can happen to someone
like Sandra Bullock, then it's no small surprise it
can happen to any of us!
Way to go Sandra! DD the DUD!
She Should See Him for the Manipulative Bastard That He Is
May 1, 2010 - 1:32pm — missyjadeThe part that really gets me is when he said "do not judge Sandy for the things I have done" Judge her for what? It never once crossed my mind to judge her for his screwing a bunch of tatooed jump-offs. Also, him saying a huge hole was left in his heart because he did not have the baby around to hold. This is true narc behavior at its best; always about them "me me me me me me". What about the huge hole he left in Sandra's heart? I know she is hurt and we are praying for her. I am so glad she got her new baby. However, she needs to get this manipulative bastard out of her life at the speed of lighten.
yes poor him
May 1, 2010 - 3:10pm — quietude (not verified)Right, missyjade...and it gulls me that apparently, this adoption was a long process dating back a couple of years, so of course he was screwing around all this time with that knowledge!!!
I am so glad for her that she will have this precious child in her life, minus the giant man-child who tried to destroy her.
As always, they're only sorry WHEN THEY GET CAUGHT! His words are soooo typical, puke, puke puke!

Animal love--real or supply
March 31, 2010 - 9:34pm — GhostBusterI think the difference between someone getting supply from an animal and those that really love their animals is sacrifice. Yes, those of us (me included) love the affection and adoration that animals show us in return for our kindness and caring. But those of us who really love our animals do things for them ...even when it inconveniences us. Very similar to how a parent loves a child. For instance, I work during the day all week and rarely schedule social events during the workday evenings because it's unfair to my dog who's home all day waiting for his evening walk. Do I miss out on social experiences because of this? Yes. But the dog is my responsibilitiy and I care about his welfare, so I sacrifice for him. And it brings me great pleasure to see him happy and getting the exercise he needs every night. And my cat, well he LOVES that stinky canned food, so despite the offense to my nose, I dish it out nightly because it makes him happy.
Narcs who claim to love animals, I would guess, just take what they can from them (admiration, affection, etc.) and don't give back to them. My 1st N claimed to love, love, love his two kitties (over the top display of affection that I've never seen a man show toward animals). But he often referred to them as his "accent cats" (because their all black coats were a striking contrast to his decor) and he didn't clean their litter box for weeks. So he did little "for them" and he took all the attention they gave happily.
My second N, well he may actually be a sociopath (or at least sociopathic). He hated my dog because the dog required attention--something he wasn't willing to relinguish. He needed 100% of my attention and either sulked or threw a fit if the dog wanted anything from me. Such a putz.

April 8, 2010 - 10:29am — TexN (not verified)ExN absolutely loved the dog he bought for our dd, I think more than dd. When he wanted the dogs' attention, he would say, "Come here, son". But if he was mad at his "beloved son", he'd kick him across the room!

He'll Change
March 31, 2010 - 7:08pm — foolmeonceI think it's unfair to say that narcs don't change - with every relationship they learn a little more about how to manipulate and control and what they should do in the future to ensure the next source doesn't catch on so quickly - they do change and rehab and therapy just enables them to become even more evil.
change
March 31, 2010 - 9:05pm — Barbara (not verified)sure Narcs change... into something different with every single relationship...

you can't REHAB what was never HABILITATED in the first place - the only thing REHAB teaches a Narc is how to be sneakier...

Dogs and Animals
March 31, 2010 - 6:48pm — The Girlfriend ...Don't know exactly how the original post got off topic about dogs and animals, but since this was addressed I thought I would add something about animals too, as my Narc/Psycho BF likes dogs and cats which does not tell anything about his past hx of violence towards people!
A 'Narc' is not usually dangerous to animals so far as I know. Animals give unconditional 'supply' which I'm pretty sure probably appeals to a narcissist...I mean NO one greets you in such an utterly happy way, jumping up and down, wagging their tail and kissing you all over... like a dog! And cats will curl up in your lap and purr and give affection too. I bet some Narcs actually dream of EVERYONE doing this at the very sight of them! HA!
It is sometimes a sociopath or psychopath who may show abusive behavior towards animals. Although even THEY can 'like' animals and not harm them. Go figure! It is reported that even Ted Bundy liked animals and did not like anyone who didn't like them. (and he was a notorious serial killer) GO figure!!!
But I DO think when a person can harm or kill an animal it is an indicator to the possibility that they may have greater potential to harm or kill a human being.
i don't know how to start an original post...sorry

Vegetarian Narcs
May 1, 2010 - 9:03pm — Susan32Sorry, but my ex-N was into animal rights, and was a vegetarian. One of the EARLY red flags was when my friends offered him bacon. Instead of the normal, polite "No thank you" or "not interested",he proudly proclaimed "I'm a vegetarian."
A Narc can be caring towards animals (my ex-N was afraid of killing a spider on his porch) because they're simple... but people, they're complicated.
ANIMAL LOVING PSYCHOPATH
May 2, 2010 - 9:20am — narcnarcwhosthere (not verified)mine CLAIMED to love animals...i was into animal rescue...it looked like something he could AGRANDIZE himself with...so he CLAIMED to be into it too......and yet he had no problem murdering my 15 year old dog to try to drive me to suicide......no problem at all...and no problem kidnapping one of my dogs and holding him for drug and booze money ransom...no problem at all....
no problem abandoning us with no home and no income...no problem at all...no problem in wishing they would starve to death....no problem at all....
and yet...i've seen him swerve and hearly hit a tree to avoid a squirrel in the road.....
he didn't love animals..he didn't love anything except himself...
oh..and he would FAKE being a vegetarian if he was around vegetarians....
everything about him was fake........
Animals and these Personality Disorders
March 31, 2010 - 10:03pm — ForeverLearningNarcissistic Personality Disorder falls under the "Cluster B" category of Personality Disorders which includes Psychopaths, Sociopaths, Histrionic Peronality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anti-Social Personality Disorder, among others.
Think of it as a one way street. If they have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, they could stop there, or they could ride the Crazy Bus a little further down to full blown Psychopath. So, all Psychopaths are also Narcissists, but not all Narcissists made it all the way down Crazy Street to become Psychopaths.
I say all this to get to this point - many Psychopaths DO ABUSE ANIMALS. They lack "Empathy" for others - human or animal.
Narcissists could very well abuse animals, but I have not yet heard of this being their 'calling card' - sometimes they are just very selfish and self centered, but not necessisarily 'abusive' in terms of hurting animals.
Whereas Psychopaths are more likely to abuse animals and humans, since they have zero feelings of empathy.
Barbara will correct me if I screwed that up.
ForeverLearning
April 2, 2010 - 5:47pm — Barbara (not verified)you're pretty much right...
any abuser can abuse animals but it is more likely a Psycho/Sociopath would do this than a Narc.
