in my gut wrenching journey, i have discovered that there is no real help for domestic violence victims...it's all pretty much a scam...the 'help' is minimal to none....the federal grants and private donations are astronomical...
i have begun taping my exchanges with domestic violence and 'social service' agencies...including a recent encounter with the United Way...i am in contact with two writers who are exploring the subject of fraud within all these agencies...and once who is attempting to get funding for a documentary...
when pressed for hard facts...most of the organizations will bristle..and hang up..or tell you they are 'simply referral agencies'...which means that they are taking huge donations and federal funds to offer DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE which someone could get for 50 cents from AT&T...they 'simply refer' you to other organizations who then 'simply refer' you to other...etc etc etc...i once spent several days testing this...and after calling about 20 of these 'referral' organizations, i had come FULL CIRCLE...without ever receiving any 'help' other than a list of phone numbers i could have gotten from the phone book!!...
there is a grassroots push underway to try to force the federal government into doing deep digging widespeard audits of these 'domestic violence organizations'....to determine where the funds are actually going..
the entire Domestic Violence INDUSTRY is pretty much a total scam...when you start looking into Domesitc Violence 'agencies' filed reports, it's astounding..one in Kansas City, a small but well known one...claims to have nearly half a million dollars 'invested' in furniture and office equipment!..but spent less than 2,000 dollars for an entire year on food for the 'victims' they purport to house and 'help'....these organizations can pretty much run amok, unimpeded.....sort of like psychopaths.......
