Hello there everyone,

Wow that was weird. I had a call from phone and broadband company. He talked so fast, he assumed I was going to change. As soon as he learned my name he kept saying it. I could hardly keep up. I couldn't tell if the answers that I was giving were what I actually meant. He kept saying 'my lovely' and then my name at the begining and end of every sentence. I was being jolted in an out of awareness and then lulled into a quiet submissive state. Wow know I know that has really happened to me. I can see how it works. My heart is racing and i feel whizzy with adrenalin. I did change my package, I just hope it was me that changed it and not him lol.
I now realise how aware and careful I have to be in the world and that this can happen to anyone once you are a target. It's not just about a phone package cos if a predator wants other things then without this knowleadge you are a sitting duck. I don't even see that it would matter whether I had issues of grief, abandonment or was very vulnerable, which means it can happen to anyone. right!

Yep, I once called the dish network to inquire about pricing. The guy was such a smooth talker saying he couldn't get to the pricing screen without obtaining my first name, last name, full address, email, social security #, etc. He had me up until social security #. Then, I let him have a piece of my mind. I said I do not want to be in the database nor receive any emails. He said, "You sound like you've been burned in the past."

They are so sneaky. He said he would need to send me an email with the pricing info. I said fine after I couldn't get a reason as to why he couldn't just tell me over the phone. Before we hung up, I got his name.

Sure enough, I never got such an email. However, I did get a marketing email. I reported it right away to their security dept with the employee's name. They removed me from the database.

ALWAYS,always,says hello my name,is,then-proceeds to get theirs and REMEMBERS it and flatters them that he doesnt forget their name/s and uses it.

I'm so glad you brought this up, it's sooo true!

My ex contacted me at work from an unknown number...I can't really 'not' answer my phone too much...although lately I don't because of this.
Anyhow...he called and immediately, and I am not exaggerating...I sort of froze, I felt numb, was light-headed..like a fog surrounded my head suddenly. It was so strange. It lasted the rest of the day. I remember just feeling violated. Just goes to show they can put the mind zap on you from afar. This is one reason why NC is soooo important (to the best of our abilities).

I missed a call from my grandmother today (she lives overseas) because the # came up unrestricted, and I've been screening for my ex. :( I need to get a calling card because I don't have international service on my cell phone and I don't have a landline.
