I did the test for myself and exNarc. All my results were low except Dependant was moderate. Did it for the x and was quite gentle for his results and most results were very high with some moderates. So yes it reassures me we had no future.
The timing of this is really excellent for me, just yesterday after a chat with my sister about the ex n she mentioned how people react differently in new relationships depending on the dynamics... So of course I have been plagued for the past 24 hours of 'Maybe it was my fault after all - if I had just accepted the withdrawals and days of silence, the mood swings, criticisms etc and been more accepting we would still be together'. Bloody ridiculous to have days thinking like this and it's been a year since we broke up....
Anyway... this helps me a lot today... thanks again.

I got mostly dependent, avoidant, and obsessive compulsive. I totally see the dependent (because I'm co-dependent) and obsessiveness...I try to control what happens in my life so I won't fear the unknown and sense of loss. Avoidant is because I get really nervous in public (not when I'm with my friends, just when I'm by myself in public).
I find it weird that I got moderately narcissistic. Oh well. I know we all have a bit of narcissism in us- I guess moderately means a healthy amount?
It's funny. I took this answering the questions as I thought my XN would answer them. I really tried to answer the questions as he would, not how I think he SHOULD. Like he would say that he cares about people, but he thinks the weak deserve to lose, he doesn't lie (because he believes everything that spews out of his mouth), and people really look up to him, etc. He still came out high on Histrionic and Narcissistic.
I then took it answering for myself. I scored low in every area. Interesting . . . .
I don't know how accurate this test is, but I think it's safe to say which one of us is more disordered!
I took the test for myself and got these results. I didn't do it for my Ex, why? Guess I really don't care any more what her issues are. That's got to be a good sign! Anyway great test and link! Thanks again
I feel more normal then I have for some time but then again its taken me almost 3 years to get there. Often wonder why the healing process takes sooooo long? My heart goes out the all the new members here. But they too will get there in time with faith courage and trust in themselves.
I often come up as avoidant or schizotypal. Used to suffer pretty badly from social anxiety (still do sometimes) which can really puzzle some people as I have lots of acquaintances and friends.
But a roomful of strangers can be torture to me. My ex was such a narc though he had no idea when I finally told him.
And I'm odd. Always have been a bit spaced-out. Retreat into my own little world etc, and have had comments like "is that the one who seems like they are on a permanent trip" and "you're not like anyone I know".
Then again I can also run meetings, did a presentation for a job the other day... and I used to judge myself harshly as grew up in an alcoholic household with a nuts father. I also used to come up as borderline "high" in any test as I hated not being a relationship, being abandoned but I worked through that. And I used to rage but not surprising the narcs/sociopaths I've been involved with. So I think some of it is relative, it can depend what you're benchmarks are.
I just have to be aware that I don't get too insular, and get out and about.

Is that possible? He was a strange mixture. Was very loud, and wanted to own the room. But was also full of social anxiety unless he was in control. And if people were spending too much time with me he'd become agitated. He'd become aggressive in his mannerisms if he felt uncomfortable.
He alternated between being high and low (depressed). Once told me that inside his head "was a living hell".
He only had a few friends, as he fell out with them all. Said he didn't need people. Was also compulsive, his house was spotless, yet he had a tin opener that was coated in months of grease and dirt (only thing in the whole house). Was bizarre.
Time to stop analysing... it probably gets me nowhere.
