This is a huge technique with pathologicals.

I've found that sometimes they are very aware they are doing it and sometimes not. Remember a Narc "makes up" their "reality" as they are going along. It's mind bending. They not normal and I don't believe they are truly even human (they just look that way).

exNH was so frustrating. He'd swear "I NEVER said that" or "I NEVER did that." One day I followed him around with a voice activated recorder and when I played it back at Marriage Counselor he ranted and swore I "doctored the tape."

When I left in my new place I have locks on my bedroom door so when he comes over to get the kids if I am busy elsewhere in the home he can't go in. Once he said "what are you going to do if the house burns down and your bedroom's locked and I am the only one here?" (WTF?) Anyway, I said "well that will all burn down too." He was stunned.

Psycho-Boy? now that was another matter. A much more twisted one, too.

After he was exposed he went around telling a time bending story, with a lot of embellishment and all his hookers, porn, sex addiction stuff conveniently left out. All tailored to make him look like the victim. If he SAYS it - and SAYS it LONG enough and LOUD enough - you MUST believe it's TRUTH. (NOT!!!!)
