After the discard

I am 2 months out of a discard after a year and a half relationship. There hasn't been any contact in 2 months. What are the chances he will contact me since it's already been 2 months without one word. Has anyone ever had their narcissist change for the better?? Are they like alcoholics that have to hit rock bottom before they are motivated to change? Does that ever happen?
